Who should I choose? Who should I please and who should I displease?. Let’s talk about the unspoken battles, the unbroken promises, and the stolen dreams.
Think about the time you were cornered, and your commitment was openly dishonored. Oh, how you wished you could let go of the decisions that killed you slow. On one side there was a passion, there was peace, on the other hand only aggression and desolate pleas. The more you tipped to one side, the bumpier became your ride. Day in, day out you were introduced to a new doubt, manipulated to a point where you were forced to shout and let it all out. There was fear on both sides, for you awaited violent tides. In this game, there had to be a winner and one side had to lose, you were the unfortunate one who had to choose. On one side there was heart and emotion, on the other side, there were brain and commotion. One side demanded attention, the other side required total submission. You wanted both but needed one, this phenomenon is understood by none.
You knew in your heart that who was right but couldn’t muster up the courage to start the fight. Lost in the battle which never started, your flight was ready but never departed. As you read these words you realize all their lies, but you’re afraid of trusting the Creator of skies. Your heart believed in miracles but your brain denied. A heart full of desires was enough to collapse huge empires. You wonder why each night your brain shouted, it is because you were not sure of what you wanted. Time passed by and big decisions came, you thought you needed some fame. You stopped using your brain and became victim to a lot of pain. There was a time when you finally decided, you gave in and He became the one who guided. At first, they were shocked, and they openly mocked until you rocked. Then came a time when miracles happened, those who you had left, maddened. You became a hero and they accepted your decision, although all you did was walk with precision. The path was undefined and scary; there were times when you got wary. You held on to a rope of faith, which won you every debate.
If you ever need to choose between them and Him, between heart and brain, between temporary and permanent, I hope you choose that which is true. The toughest battle is you against you because it is you who knows what you can do. When times are hard, call upon Him and take a start. The walk won’t be easy the pain wouldn’t be painless, but trust me if you make it through rewards will be endless.
