Love of ALLAH - Blog Post by Al Midrar Institute

Allah's (SWT) love is the greatest and the purest as it firstly shows in the beautiful way in which He has created us & fashioned us i.e. in the perfect shape and form. Allah (SWT) love is utterly a blessing for all of us that is hidden in His Eternal Mercy & Compassionate behavior that He has bestowed on us. The first names of Allah that we recite are Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem that defines His Greatness by being exclusively compassionate upon all the creatures in the universe.

His love is greater than the love of a mother. Imagine a mother who gives birth to her child loves him dearly with all her heart and sacrifices her entire life for her child and looks after him with eternal care throughout her lifetime. How about Allah (SWT) who has created you & blessed you with the life when you were lifeless and to Him is the return. He loves you more than your own mother as He looks after you 24*7 even whilst you are asleep. Allah (SWT) love is immensely pure as He loves us without any conditions. One of the blessed names of Allah is Al-Wadood (ALL-LOVING). When a believer performs sincere good deeds, He (SWT) looks at you with the Sight of Love & Mercy.

Allah’s love is eternal and never-ending. It is due to His immense love and mercy that He forgives us; our major and minor sins. Allah Ta'ala has given us chance to repent as long as we are alive, no matter how many times we fall in our pathways & get trapped in the same sin; His doors of repentance are always open. Allah said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it. (At- Tirmidhi). If this is not true love then what is?

Ibn al-Qayyim (R.A) said- “The love of Allah is a light, that if you are without it, you are in an ocean of darkness.”
You begin to witness the fruitful results as you gain His love. When Allah (SWT) begins to love a person then Allah becomes his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he seizes, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks me, I will surely give to him, and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him; meaning that Allah guides him in his actions, words, hearing and seeing. For whomsoever you keep your love inside, it will automatically reflect in your actions. Therefore, as the love for ALLAH starts to grow seed in your heart, your limbs begin to obey Him sincerely.

What an absolute great honor that when Allah loves you, He grants you wisdom of knowledge and guides you to distinguish clearly between the right & wrong. The Prophet (SAW) said: ‘If Allah loves a person, He calls Jibrael saying, ’Allah loves so and so; O Jibrael love him.’ And make an announcement amongst the inhabitants of the heaven: “Allah loves so and so therefore you should love him also, and so all the inhabitants of the heaven would love him, and then he is granted the pleasures of the people on the earth.”

It is only due to His love for you, that He overlooks your past deeds as you enter the realm of guidance. He not only forgives you for the prior sins but also transforms them into good deeds. Always remember He is All-Forgiving and Most-Merciful. Unlike people, He is available at all times and is only waiting for your call. You need to put
some effort by knocking at His door so that you achieve His tranquility. When Allah loves a person, He tests him so that he can draw nearness towards Allah and gain rewards of being patient. If this is not love O’ Muslims, then what is?! And, my dear brothers and sisters, ponder over His love and you will be lost counting the infinite blessings that He has bestowed upon you. His love is worth your sacrifice and efforts that you draw to become close to Him as today whatever we have achieved in our life is because of His endless blessings. Let's be grateful and say Alhamdulillah!

So, should it not be the love of Allah that yearns you to obey Him?
